Launching Today: English Day on Tribune

For some consideration, ESA, English Study Program of FKIP Untan, and Borneo Tribune determine to launch the one pages of English Day on Tribune today. The event was held at Aula FKIP Untan. Coming to the Launching of English Day on Tribune, The Dean of FKIP Untan, Pak Aswandi, Assistant to the Dean I of FKIP Untan, Assistant to the Dean III of FKIP Untan, Assitant to the Dean III of FMIPA Untan, The Head of PBS FKIP Untan, The Head of English Study Program of FKIP Untan, and some of English Department Lectures of FKIP Untan. Since this is the event of ESA, there was also the Executive Board of ESA 2008/2009. Some seniors of ESA also came to the event. Thanks a lot for all! We also would like to say thanks to the other audience of the event. Thanks for coming.

Kunjungan ESA ke Borneo Tribune
(membahas kerjasama program MCN untuk English Day on Tribune)

Dedi Irwan, Dini HZ, Umi Salamah, Siti Hajaroh, Dewi Ismu, Novi Rianti, dan Riyanto berkunjung ke Harian Borneo Tribune. Disambut dengan senyum ramahnya Mas Alexander Mering dan Mas Nur Iskandar (pimpinan redaksi Borneo Tribune), membuat kami merasa betah untuk berintermezo di awal sebelum membahas kerjasama yang ingin ditawarkan ESA.

Diskusi dibuka oleh Siti Hajaroh, dan pihak ESA menyampaikan maksud serta tujuan untuk menjalin kerjasama di Borneo Tribune. Ya itu dia. Kita ingin jalin kerjasama dengan harian Borneo Tribune untuk satu halaman tempat kita berkarya, tempat kita promosi, dan tempat kita kembangkan potensi teman-teman khususnya dalam hal menulis. Rencananya nanti, tidak hanya opini atau argumen serta kehidupan kampus saja yang akan dibahas di halaman tersebut, tapi juga membahas isu hangat. Mengingat tim dari ESA nanti kemungkinan tidak cukup banyak punya ilmu di bidang penulisan jurnalistik, maka Mas Mering menawarkan agar tim yang akan menangani halaman ini untuk ikutan pelatihan. Wow, with a pleasure!

Nah, rencananya, jika lancar, program ini akan rilis perdana tanggal 5 Juli 2008. Setiap hari sabtu, akan jadi halaman berbahasa Inggris di Borneo Tribune, dan semoga bisa menjadi media untuk warga ESA menyalurkan unek-unek, mengembangkan pemikiran kritis, serta tentu saja menambah pengetahuan berbahasa Inggris untuk warga kota Pontianak.

Invitation from HIMABSII

HIMABSII (Himpunan Mahasiswa Bahasa dan Sastra Inggris se-Indonesia) invited English Student Association (ESA) FKIP Untan Pontianak to come to the Annual Meeting of HIMABSII: Seminar dan Temu Alumni HIMABSII. Based on their letter last April, 2008, this is an independent event which has never been conducted before.

We are really pleased to receive their letter and in our planning to prepare to go to the meeting. According to the director of ESA 08/09, by joining to the event, we will have a chance to spread out ESA network around Indonesia and we can build a good relationship with other ESA in Indonesia.

Now, the problem of us is: MONEY! Haha... what else besides money? We need that to go to Universitas Negeri Jakarta where the meeting will be conducted. At first, the event will be held this coming June, 20th-23rd, 2008. But in some consideration, so the committee prefer to pend it till last July or early August.

Well, then it gives us more time to prepare our proposal! Hopefully the dean, the rector, or other functional people in UNTAN will feel free to help us having the money for coming to the event.

Halo everybody... ESA blog visitors, all of ESA members, and all of you around this cyber world... How are you doing? We were doing so much busy heheh... And now, let's welcome ESA back!

So, what's new about ESA? Well guys, before telling you about the brand new plan and the brand or new progja for this period, let us share you about some important stuffs that we even did not realize we have left it behind! What are they? Here they are...

First, All About ESA... (to make it simple, let us give it in Bahasa for you, OK?)

Berdasarkan Anggaran Dasar dan Rumah Tangga hasil Musyawarah Besar ESA FKIP UNTAN, didapatkanlah LAMBANG DAN ARTI LAMBANG ORGANISASI.

Lambang Organisasi English Student Association Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Tanjungpura adalah tulisan ESA FKIP Untan yang dilatarbelakangi Union Jack bersegi lima.

Tujuan Organisasi

1. ESA FKIP Untan sebagai organisasi dalam lingkungan civitas akademika yang dapat mewujudkan masyarakat Bahasa Inggris yang memiliki daya kritis, kecerdasan intelektual, kecerdasan emosional, dan kecerdasan spiritual dalam usaha menciptakan tokoh-tokoh masa depan.

2. ESA FKIP Untan merupakan wadah untuk meningkatkan, mengaplikasikan dan mengapresiasikan kemampuan intelektual, kemampuan organisasi, kreativitas dan segenap potensi anggota ESA FKIP Untan.

Fungsi Organisasi

1. Menjadikan ESA sebagai English Learning Centre untuk Student Intelektual Development.

2. Menumbuhkan kembangkan potensi akademis, intelektualitas, kreativitas, dan potensi berorganisasi anggota ESA FKIP Untan serta berupaya mengembangkan potensi diri dalam kehidupan beragama dan bermasyarakat, berbangsa dam bernegara

3. Menyelenggarakan kegiatan-kegiatan yang bersifat ilmiah, sosial, seni dan sastra, serta menyalurkan minat dan bakat yang ada pada anggota ESA FKIP Untan.

4. Menjadikan ESA sebagai wadah pengkaderan edukatif untuk meningkatkan potensi anggota yang menghargai etika dan moral.

5. Menjadikan ESA sebagai fungsi kontrol terhadap kebijakan dan isu-isu strategis yang berada di lingkungan FKIP Untan.

6. Menjadikan ESA sebagai organisasi yang memiliki hubungan baik dan jaringan komunikatif aspiratif yang sifatnya internal dan eksternal.
