I Just.....Run!!!

“A simple way to moving forward”

Have any of the reader ever watch the movie “Forrest Gump”? If you haven’t,I recommend you to watch it. I promise It’s worth your time. The film was starred by Tom Hanks in 1994. The story is about a bit retarded guy,Forrest Gump, who simply living his life by just keep going as he said in the movie “I just…run!”. Followed the simple straight one way of living,he earn so many valuable things. He had meet two president of US (John F.Kennedy and Lyndon B.Johnson),become a war hero, become a national athlete, run a very good shrimp bussiness, and even own some shares in Apple company. Quite an achievement, huh?

Well, enough talk about the movie. This article didn’t want to review the movie. It’s just as a start. We know, there’s still a lot of people who didn’t know what to do in his life. So I’m using the movie as an example. If you still don’t know what to do and do nothing, your life will stopped. Why don’t you just start living your life as it is rather than keep thinking of what are you going to do. Everyone has it own paths, but if you just keep thinking which path to chose you’ll ended go nowhere. An American writer Elbert Hubbard once said “The best way to prepare for life is to begin to live.”

Future,it is indeed a scary one for some people. Many people ended as unemployment, because they don’t know what to do or too busy daydreaming about a happy future (I exclude those who have a bad luck). These people just don’t want to start their life whereas if they just start to live they will eventually have their own happy future. Well, at least they still have future. They just too scared of their future so they think of it too much or prefer to daydreaming instead of facing it. We should just start our life and not thinking too much of the future as quoted by the famous scientist Albert Einstein “I never think of the future,It comes soon enough.” It is true, because every single second ahead is the future.

So, for any readers who still confused of what to do in this life. I suggest all of you to start your life, there will be no destination if you don’t have a start. Start by doing the simple thing first, such as taking any chances that may come in your way and eventually you will find out what you really want your life to be. Don’t waste your times just for thinking about what to do but do what you want to do.

I don’t say it’s not a good thing to thinking about our life. It’s good if you think first about what you want to do in your life and then do it. The bad thing is if you only keep on thinking without making any move. Have a well-planned things to do is very good, but some people find it hard to think so they decided to just keep on moving, this is not bad either as long as it done seriously. All you have to do is just do it.

Just like Forrest Gump said in the movie “I just…run!”. He really do it in his life, since he has a low level of intelligence to think as I mentioned earlier. He keep on running his life without much thinking. The main thing is that you keep moving forward, whether you running fast or just walking slowly as long as you make progress there. Even one step forward is better than stand still.

When I Was a Child

Posted by Sahabat
www.feelyourfreedom.blogspot.com

I dreamed of grown up moments
and now
I wish I were just a child again
when all I knew was innocence…

when I could cry as loud as I wanted
when I would stand on a chair
only to sing an unclear song
and still my little mates would clap their hands

when all I could draw were
a cloud, a mountain, a house, a coconut tree
and a butterfly bigger than the tree
and got the whole praise for that

when I would run in the rain -
naked without being ashamed
when I could just being lazy the whole day
and still foods will be served there

childhood…
when no awareness required
when understandings was not of concern

0h wait a sec...

I can see the difference
in there, I wasn’t aware that it was love
I didn’t know that I was living a life
I didn’t understand that it was me

yea…

I like the now
I like this time
right now

though I need to struggle for certificates
rite… also for knowledge and friendships - of course (hah!)
though I need to think of going to work
to maintain Rupiah in my pocket ($$$)

though I’m aware of my demanding needs
and try to find ways to fulfill them
I can see me now on the way
of searching and living

though I don’t understand all things
I don’t have to understand everything anyway…

I begin to know what love is
what to love and being loved is
maybe it is all (K'U)

Interview with Michael Green: The Man Behind the Day Zero Project (2)

by Diar Adhihafsari - 2002

Previously, Michael talked about how the Day Zero Project came up and nowhe explains his very own 101 Things to do in 1001 Days and more. Be inspired :)

Diar (D): Do you make 101 things to do of your own? If yes, could you please share some ofthe things from your list?

Michael (M): I'm on to my second list, having completed over 80% of the tasks on my first list within the time period. A number of the tasks on my lists reveal my passion for film, with challenges such as watching all Festival de Cannes award winners, and the IMDb Top 50 Westerns etc. To encourage me to get into the outdoors more I included a lot of challenges specific to my region -- go kayaking, camping, rollerblading, skiing, geocaching, spelunking etc.

I also created goals that leave scope for spontaneity -- one of mine was to travel to another continent. I had no clear destination in my head when I created the list, but last year ended up spending four months in South America. The goals don't all need to be grand, some of the other things I have done include observing local court in session, going to an outdoor sculpture exhibition, painting a self portrait, and hitting a bucket of balls at a golf driving range. Just the act of crossing an item off the list, regardless of its size, can be rewarding.

D: Would you keep running this project for good?

M: I do intend to keep the project running. I would like to come up with some supporting projects that also help and motivate people to add some challenges to their lives. It would be great to build a community of like minded people and somehow bring about collaborative goals. I'm exploring options at the moment, but I'm also aware that for a lot of people this is about a personal journey. I'm just happy to get feedback from people saying they have been inspired in some way by the project.

D: Any particular message/tips/anything you want to say to people out there who are doing this project?

M: I think the best tip I have to pass on to people who are looking at doing this project is really think a lot about what you want to achieve from it. Do you want to draw out a more adventurous sprit in yourself? Are you looking to challenge yourself to do things outside of your comfort zone? Are there things you always talk about wanting to do but never find the time for? Don't resort to putting down generic and non-specific goals down such as 'Lose Weight' or 'Get fit'. Push yourself to identify a what you really want to achieve, then create a plan on how to make regular progress towards it.

As I mention in one of the settings tips -- welcome failure. This is your biggest opportunity to learn, and it will make the success all the more satisfying.

Lastly, if your list is not fun then you will have no enthusiasm to complete it. Make each task something you look forward to achieving and remember that the journey is just as important as the end result.
